"Done Is Done" is the 3rd demo of the Finnish combo Reprisal Scars. The band still follows its musical road in the world of Gothenburg Death and if you had the luck to listen to their previous releases you'll not be surprised by this new CD. It's a good Melodic Death, but still not really new, original and surprising. The fans will like it, the ones who have enough of this music will quickly pass their way.

It's a bit always the same problem with Reprisal Scars, we cannot blame the quality of the release, the three songs are not bad at all, but can we really expect something good for such music now? I'm afraid that the trend is dying and only the big famous bands (In Flames, Dark Tranquillity, maybe Soilwork) will be able to sell a lot of CDs in the future. I don't want to sound pessimist, but I clearly believe that it will be hard for the young bands like Reprisal Scars to find a big success, not because they're bad, they're not bad, but because they're just not so original, and when you have a lot of bands which play the same kind of music, one day, you just have enough.

On the other hand, I cannot say that it's already over for Reprisal Scars. The band still has a lot of potential in my opinion, and I clearly believe that they're able to write songs a bit more original. It's just a matter of originality, if the guys found the way to add something different in their composition, if they can add a real personal touch, it should work. In the style, the songs of "Done Is Done" aren't so bad so why not? Plus the production of the demo is better, so all in all, this demo is not a bad demo but you already know what its principal problem is.

What can we wish to Reprisal Scars? Maybe to release a first album, three demos that's enough for now, and also to find a way to write some real original songs. It's possible to do that, I already got lately some demos from bands that chose to play Gothenburg Death with their own personal touches, yes we can do it! For "Done Is Done" I will say that the fans will probably find something for them but for sure we're into pure classicism here so?
