Well I hope the sarcasm was obvious enough because in fact I actually consider it a pretty horrendous and quite ridiculous artwork. The music on the other hand is a lot better than the cover led me to believe. Basically the band plays an extremely symphonic oriented type of black metal/extreme gothic metal, the special part about this however, is that opposed to the usual growls and shrieks, we get a clean, female singer behind the mic this time.
Usually I prefer my black metal raw and cold, but I quite enjoy the massive keyboard sound in conjunction with the choirs and fast drumming of this album. At times the songwriting even has a vague progressive touch to it. The vocals however definitely need some getting used to and while they're not bad, there's still a lot of room for improvement, especially where variation is concerned.
The combination doesn't work on all of the songs. But if this sounds like it's your kind of thing it's definitely worth checking out. One thing is for sure though, to enjoy this album you must definitely be a fan of kitsch and exaggerated keyboards. If you aren't, there isn't the slightest chance in hell you'll like this album.

The album is amazing imo, I'm a sucker for operatic vocals like these...Thanks for the find, Bas
