Staff review by
1997, "Stille"; the tragic figure of the clown stands alone on the stage ready to start the show in front of an empty audience holding in his arms his painful violin, his only friend. Solitude surrounds him and he starts to play, bleeding melodies echo and the shadows gather to befriend and accompany him as he interprets all alone on the stage. The smile on his face seems so fake, so artificial, only his eyes speak of the bitter truth, only his eyes, a mirror of his soul, of how pain has blossomed in him dancing with his soul in bitter entwine.

Stille is one of my favourite Lacrimosa records. It has the recognizable, emotion-filled Tilo's vocals, some heavy guitars and some great songwriting. With the last notes of Die Strasse der Zeit I can't help, but feel that I want more of this record.
Favourite tracks: Siehst du mich im Licht, Stolzes Herz, Make It End, Die Strasse der Zeit.

After not being very impressed with Elodia (previous rating = 7, new rating = 8), I didn't have high hopes for this album, but it certainly delivered!

Enjoyable and captivating throughout. As someone who isn't a big fan of Gothic Metal, I'm surprised by how much I enjoyed this album. Maybe my tastes are changing...
