Can only get better? I'm jealous your fortune-telling skills.

It takes a lot for a black metal album to impress me these days (do to the surfeit of nihilism in the genre) but by God I absolutely love this album!!! I really enjoy a heroic feel to my metal and this definitely delivers.

This is fantastic through and through. The energy of this album marauds across the stars, time and space wheel about with tempest and fury. A masterpiece through and through.

This is a fantastic album. So I was about to purchase a digital copy on Bandcamp when I noticed a monthly subscription service offered by the label Naturemacht Productions for about the same price as the album. I'm not usually into signing up for a subscription, but it said you receive all new releases so I thought I'd try it out. I receive over 50 new albums in my collection ( I think everything since the subscription started) and Havukruunu's new album. I've been listening through, and there is some awesome fucking albums in this label. Thought I'd just let people know if they're interested.

This sounds really folksy, almost like an Ensiferum album. I love how some of the songs move at a frantic pace. Love the Pink Floydish outro on the last song.

Normally I wouldn't praise a band for ripping off other bands (Immortal, Moonsorrow and Bathory, to be exact), but these guys do it with such conviction and aplomb, that it's hard to resist them. Fantastic album!

Rip off? I don't think so. Heavily inspired? absolutely.

I agree.

It's far from ripping off bands Dan mentioned, least those 3 bands referenced about inspiring. Close to Bathory, but far away from the other two.

A slept on band IMO, everything they have done before this is also worth checking out including ep's and demo's, this band knows how to be anthemic / catchy without forcing it.

Imagine a far less sugary and more black metal Ensiferum with balls and you are close to to the mark.

This is getting better and better each time I listen to it. It is not just great to start with, it somehow manages to be a grower.

I'm definitely in the minority on this one. It's so cheesy and desperately attempting to be epic. But it seems to sit well with most of those who've heard it, so good for them. I listened to it twice and dropped my rating after the second round. I just don't know what kind of mood I'd need to be in for me to enjoy this.

I'm very late to this party but this is an awesome album.

Cheesiness in metal is a big turn off for me as well but I don't hear any of it.

I don't really care much if a band sounds like another band that came before them as long as the supposed "copycat" is good too. This is my first time listening to Havukruunu and I can definitely say that is case for them. I think there's enough to set Havukruunu apart as well as satisfy the lack of new material from the bands they sort of sound like, Moonsorrow for instance. This album forges its own path, blending black, folk, and pagan metal into a grand and stellar journey. I haven't listened to it enough yet, but I found very little wrong with it. It feels more adventurous and triumphant than dark and depressing which I enjoyed. There is plenty of great guitar work, writing, atmosphere, and those choirs are fantastic.

This album is great, so epic and melodic. The Finns produce some pretty fine folk metal bands it has to be said; Moonsorrow, Ensiferum and Havukruunu just to name a few.

They must be really heavily be inspired by Moonsorrow because it's that similar. I like it!
