So, apparently the AFL had to pay a fee to Warner Bros because the new AFL team will be called the Tasmanian Devils, just because WB thinks they own global copyright to the name of an animal

There are moments when everything becomes servant of utter tranquility and all the deathlike silence suddenly is being seduced by the ominous sound of the bells of the underworld, unleashing the signs of the forthcoming doom. The Gods of doom have risen from their 2-year slumber and the time has come for humanity to drown once again in oblivion, darkness, death, pain, sorrow, despair and mourning, yes, My Dying Bride are back, invading the prosperous kingdom of a world filled with delight and joy, covering the heavens with the heaviest of tears.
a 4 seems kind of harsh... the first 4 tracks are excellent in my opinion. What a shame the second half of the album is way less great. Overall a good album for sure, but can't measure up against pretty much everything they did before this one.
Looking at the tracklist and there's not a bad song,
Indeed, man, thats the point here! Although I find Deeper Down somewhat behind the rest.
The album cant really keep up with most of the previous-century MDB work, obviously, but it is still an outstanding opus, for me. Favourite tracks, hhm, rather difficult, since most of the stuff is pretty much at par. Love's intolarable pain is the best one here. The blood, the whine, the roses, Thy raven wings, and I walk with them are also slightly better than the rest IMO, but that is really marginal. Consistent album, it follows.

The strange thing is it's one of my most played album by them (still behind Turn Loose The Swans, The Dreadful Hours and Songs Of Darkness, Words Of Light) even thought I will not put it in their top 5, it was the last consistant album they made.
And man, Thy Raven Wings always brings me to the verge of crying whenever I play it, not many songs do that to me!

is not bold enough
to stare into it himself.
This is maybe one of my favorite albums, it's so... elegant. Can't describe it otherwise.
Also recently I found a great acapella version of Thy Raven Wings:
This is another solid album. The riffs took me by surprise, it must be up there with their most melodic, but the sound is still very much doom based, and maybe structured in a slightly more gothic manner this time too instead of death doom. The songwriting is still pretty decent, and the emotion is still there, although it's not quite on the same level as their previous three albums.
There are some strong highlights on this as per usual, with "Thy Raven Wings", "And I Walk with Them", and "I Cannot Be Loved" being my favourites, but it's all round not as consistent as the previous three albums.
