A very nice debut full-length to kick off the caeer of one of the best grunge metal bands ever. 'This album doesn't fall flat on its face, as a lot of debut albums usually did in the early 90's (of similar genres), but instead shows off the band's talent and highly regarded guitar work courtesy of Jerry Cantrell. Staley's voice on 'Facelift' is not quite at its best, but nonetheless still fits the nature of the music well. This album is a sign of brilliant things to come.

It's awesome how you play this record and the first thing that you hear is We DIe Young's killer riff.
