I didn't particularly like the debut, but this is quite an intriguing album - it does have the Voidhanger craziness at times, but I think it's been dialled down quite a bit. There's a curious unusual melodicism to parts of it, and it does feel a bit closer to prog black than avantgarde black. I also like the post-metal part in Unobtainable Transformations
