"Someone" clearly has their head up their own ar$e if they've listened to this and given it a 3.

Not the most original sound and style there is but it's still absolutely crushing and intensely atmospheric.

Very worth the wait. These guys are pretty unique among “death doom” bands, honestly more sludge death but not in the sense of something as riffy as Slugdge or the slowly escalating insanity of Dragged Into Sunlight either. Relatively unique sound going on. The noise and dark ambient influences on this album are a really pleasant treat, and there’s something especially unsettling about that album artwork as well

After some hefty debate with myself I have decided that this is my first 9 this year, I just cant leave it as a 8. I am surprised that its rated only 7,4 here (probably surprised that the taste of our be-lowed members could dwindle even worse than it already was).
The production is immense even if its very much buried in reverb, but you do what you gotta do to make a good album. Imo the dynamics are what makes this a standout album (as Radu already stated in his review) -besides the tasteful death there is very much Evoken inspiration going on here and I would be pleasantly surprised if there is a better extreme doom album this year.

Only 7,4? That's between good and very good. I'd say that's pretty high for an album that's not as easily digestible like the new Judas Priest album for instance. And what's with the condescending tone towards those that don't share your taste in music. I wouldn't rate this higher than a 7, at best. Gonna be condescending towards me too?

Rate this under 7 if you like but then I would assume that you dont know what youre listening to, is that condenscending or just a fact? Most fans with a tiny bit of knowledge of extreme doom or death doom would hear that this is a more than an average album in the genre.

I most likely listen to way more different bands and genres than you do, not that it matters. And that's your opinion, nothing more. I don't find anything special about this album and I dare to say it's pretty average for the genre. It's not bad in any way but it's not mindblowing either. I'd rather listen to Absent In Body's Plague God over this because that album is miles better. So if you haven't checked that one out, you're welcome.

Who in this thread has been disrespectful more than you? And this discussion is getting tiresome. You're not the first "elitist" complaining and saying that people who dislike an album shouldn't rate it, that you have superior taste and those who "have knowledge of extreme doom" (what does that even mean?) knows that this is above average. Taste is subjective, there's no right or wrong. I listen to a lot of extreme doom and to me this is just above average, and there's nothing wrong with my hearing. And finally, without lower votes every single album on MS would have an average above at least 8, what would be the point of the ratings then?
