The awkward middle child of the family, sitting between two of the band's better-known works, known only for being the transitional record that bridges the ones that came before and after it. Does Pleasures Of The Flesh get a raw deal? Simply put: yes and no.

4. Fabulous Disaster

My list would be very similar to yours.. Great minds think alike I guess

Tempo was my favorite instead of 'Kill Machine though.

The word gen means "illusion" or "apparition." In India, a man who uses conjury is called a genjutsushi ["a master of illusion technique"]. Everything in this world is but a marionette show. Thus we use the word gen.

Criminally underrated. It may not be as genious as bonded by blood, but i dont see one weak point in this album.

Not a bad album at all, but perhaps overshadowed by its predecessor, 'Bonded by Blood'.

Giving a 4 to "Not a bad album at all" seems kind of weird to me.

I think most people's top 4 will about the same. The latter five is where you will see the differences of opinion. Impact seems to be the bottom dweller for most. Not the best album but there was a few songs that were really good. FoH would be my bottom dweller as it to me sounds so deliberate and desperate to get into mainstream. Not saying they weren't deserving because to me they should be in the "Big 4" over Anthrax. If Bonded by Blood had not been delayed for so long thrash history would be different. Exodus were doing this before all the other "Big 4" . Hammet left Exodus to join Metallica. I wish more people would give exodus the credit deserving.

I don't think it's true that Exodus were making thrash before Metallica. But even if that were so, people would need to acknowledge Kirk's huge part in shaping thrash metal, seeing as he wrote a lot of the music for Exodus before he left the band.

Omg here we go again...

Big Four Of Thrash referred to the BIGGEST (popularity, sales all that stuff) tfour thrash bands at the time and Exodus didn't even come close to Anthrax.

Exodus started playing thrash AFTER Metallica first they played normal standard heavy metal but like loads of other bands, such as Overkill etc., they started playing faster and thrash after Metallica's first demo hit the scene.
They even say so themselves in the Get Thrashed documentary.

WHO CARES! My point was Exodus has never been given the credit they deserve. They were thrash inside and out unlike others they embraced it. So yeah here we go again with somebody who for some reason has to make one persons opinion into some OMG how dare you mention the "Big Joke" . I don't think in terms of sales and popularity. It was NWOBHM that got bands playing faster Llica was just out of the gate a little earlier as far as recordings. They scene had already been born. Hence the move to SF because Cliff knew that was where it was at. "Who did it first" or referring to "Big Four" bother you that bad?

Maybe it's overshadowed by the band's debut, but there's still a few crackers to be found here. One thing I just can't get into is the vocals, which for me are weak compared to the instrumentation. Nonetheless, songs like "Till Death do Us Part" and "Faster than you'll ever live to be" are very solid thrash.

I agree this album is very underrated. It's a fantastic thrash album full of unrelenting, catchy riffing but is no doubt overshadowed by "Bonded by Blood" due to it's anthemic vibe I guess! I'd say this album is definitely on par with "Fabulous Disaster" and deserves a similar rating (8+). Particularly enjoyed "Brain Dead" - absolutely crushing song! - and the more politically charged lyrics in the later tracks ("Seeds of Hate" and "Chemi-Kill").

Pure classic thrash metal. Not quite as good as BbB, but Zetro is improvement in vocals; Zetro could be called a singer while Baloff, hardly Tbh the album could still be much better and faster as well, yet it's quite enjoyable outcome.

I don't understand why this has a lower score than Fabulous Disaster.

For me Pleasures of the Flesh is only slightly less of a classic than Bonded By Blood.

That's a shame seeing undervalued to FD -- it is miles ahead of it and nearly missing some chunk to BYB.

I know, I crank Exodus's score, but it goes without an iota of doubt that Pleasures is jewel in the releases of Exodus.

Yeah, I'm typing this from the bar. Cheers.
