Rating: 10 This is the first time I write for this site about Heavy Metal, and I start my comments about this legendary album...for me this is the best album ever from Running Wild. I wonder why nobody wrote any comments about this metal album...All the songs from this album are awesome, specially "Under Jolly Roger", "Diamonds Of The Black Chest", "Raise Your Fist", and "Raw Ride"...but this is cruelty for the others songs. After this successful album the band have released a live album what proves the greatness of "Under jolly Roger". This album and "Death Or Glory" are the best from the Pirates of Metal.

IMO the album is legendary because the birth of the pirate image, but I wouldn't say it's legendary in terms of quality of the music. Sure it's the heaviest RW album and Rolf has this low voice here which he didn't use in any other album, which makes this album sound quite badass, but I can't honestly see this album as their best when it comes to song writing.

Rating: 7 Good album for sure, but I feel it's highly over rated in many places. I think the album suffers from the same issue that its predecessor had; the overall averageness of many of the songs and even some of the songs that are better (the title track, "Beggar's Night" and "Diamonds Of The Black Chest") do sound somewhat simplified and could use something interesting added to them. The only real killers here appear to be "War In The Gutter" and "Merciless Game"
