AC/DC is part of the little crowd of bands who don't need to be introduced to anyone: almost everybody has heard them or, at least, heard OF them. They're the band which accompanied me through my slow conversion from commercial punk to metal, and I owe them in particular three releases: this, the worldwide famous Back In Black and the last one, Black Ice.

One of the first three cassette tapes I ever bought. Even this goofy 12-year old could tell. One of a kind. Unforgettable.

Full of catchy hooks, groovy riffs, and some seriously brilliant solos. It's not all about Angus Young, but he does a good job of keeping this album concise and consistently of great quality. There isn't really a bad song here, with fast little rockers ('Get it Hot' and 'Girls got rhythm'), statements of intent ('Walk all over you') and slightly disturbing yet equally as satisfying stormers ('Night crawler'). Certainly one of the best rock albums ever.

You can really tell the influence Mutt Lange had on them here. The song "Touch Too Much" sounds like a Def Leppard song.

Def Leppard hadn't released their debut album, it would be a year later; by '79, they had some demos and an EP out. Wasn't Lange the producer of their 1983 Pyromania album?

BTW, I love Touch to Much. What's so wrong with it?

Nothing wrong with "Touch Too Much" if you like a cheesy cock-rock song with over the top backing vocals for the chorus.

I don't like cheesy cock-rock or over the top backing vocals, but I do like Touch to Much. , I've never thought of the song as cheesy.

Fo' shizzle. Probably also the best AC/DC album in general.

The most predictable yet fun music act of all time. This is like the dutch footballer Arjen Robben, you know he is gonna attack from the right, dribble past defenders, and shoot it in the top left corner yet everytime he does time you are left in awe.

You are not metal enough until you visit Kenya. The cradle of mankind, where man learnt first to work with stones and first enjoyed the sounds produced by banging stones which later influenced metal in all its sounds and genres.

Another one of my most played albums in the old days. Like with BiB I'm not fond of all the songs anymore, this time around they're #2 and #7. I'd also claim that this is superior to BiB. Something just feels amiss without Bon's vocals.

Some people say AC/DC always sounds the same, but in my view their sound changed after this album pretty drastically and I'm not talking just about the vocals.

If "If You Want Blood" doesn't make you want a floor a 1969 SS Camaro down an open highway, you have no soul.

Their 2nd best album IMO.

8.9/10 for me - The title track is the standout and "Girls Got Rhythm" is also great. "Get It Hot" is the weakest track.

Their 2nd best album IMO.

8.9/10 for me - The title track is the standout and "Girls Got Rhythm" is also great. "Get It Hot" is the weakest track.

Great album but HtH is my least played Bon Scott album as I prefer the earlier, dirtier, more bluesy side of AC/DC.

My personal favourite is Let There Be Rock. It's worth tracking down an early pressing for the "lost" classic "Crabsody in Blue" as well. I've got both but for me "Problem Child" belongs to the Dirty Deeds album and "Overdose is a better opener for side 2.

1/ Let there be Rock
2/ Powerage
3/ Dirty Deeds
4/ High Voltage
5/ Highway to Hell

Then there's a 10,000,000 mile gap to the best Brian Johnson album which is undoubtedly BiB
