This album was not meant to be a BS album, just a Tommi Iommi album, but the label forced Iommi to have it under Black Sabbath banner. "BS featuring Tommi Iommi" says on the cover - it's ridiculous
Taking the album for what it offers and considering the things above, it's a really good album, Glenn Hughes performance was great. Seventh Seal is in my humble opinion miles better than the previous album (Born Again that featured Ian Gillan on vocals).

What you said is true, but that doesn't mean it's a good album either way. Quite mediocre. Everything after Mob Rules with the exception of Headless Cross, Cross Purposes and Dehumanizer has for the most part, sucked. A couple of alright songs here and there, but besides that, no.

that just goes to show how much tastes differ. I think maybe if it didn't say Black sabbath on the cover, people would not have been so confused and would have received it differently and more positively.

Fuck, why is this rated so low? Pure hard rock/AOR goodness, and with an awesome vocalist.

Well, actually as an album is not all bad but the name Black Sabbath is on it so that why the disappointment of not typical BS.
the record company put the name Black Sabbath on it without Tony's approval. Tony wanted it released just under his own name since it had and has nothing to do with Black Sabbath

The lamest thing is that it says "Black Sabbath featuring Tony Iommi"

Good album, some very good moments such as "Seventh Star", "No Stranger To Love", "Danger Zone" or "Turn To Stone". Very low rating, another Sabbath album way underrated just like Born Again
