Almost ten years ago, a debate took place between an internet friend of mine and some other guy. That other guy's opinion was that truly great metal was no longer being released in the 2000s. After some back-and-forth between the two sides, my friend said the following: "Go listen to Slough Feg's album Traveller, you won't find much to complain about." The debate was over and my friend stood triumphant, because when it comes to Slough Feg's fourth album, there indeed isn't much to complain about; Traveller is quite simply an epic masterwork.

Over the past two years, this album has become one of my all-time favorite.

It's catchy, it's nerdy (concept album based on the universe of an old school tabletop RPG FTW) but most importantly it oozes awesome through its every pore.

And it has a dog-headed astronaut with a machine gun on the cover.

It's also the highest rated heavy metal album on MS. I prefer Hardworlder myself but this album is pretty damn good,

You'd be hard pressed to find a more flat out awesome metal band than Slough Feg. This particular album probably comes second for me though, after Down Among The Deadmen.

Easily the most underrated band I know. Purely going on the fact their sound has near universal appeal and the fact they've been around for ages and have virtually no recognition or fanbase.

I have to agree that its a fantastic album. It reminds me a lot of Hammers of Disfortune. ( I know this band is older, but it is not for me)

Ok what

Seriously I always put off checking out Slough Feg, even though I'm a big Hammers of Misfortune fan, but holy shit when you are able to see past the cheese this album is so. GOOD.
