What an absolutely brutal album. It's incredibly dark and sinister and I've never heard anything like it. It makes My Dying Bride and Paradise Lost's debuts feel like cheery albums.

Probably it has to do with the cavernous sound. I can say that the sound was influential for some of those new death metal bands.
