Progressive Power Metal has seen many bands reach fame in the last decade or so. Unfortunately Germany's Vanden Plas somehow seems to still be flying under the radar when it comes to recognition. Already their sixth studio effort, the concept album The Seraphic Clockwork continues the tradition of fantastic progressive songs filled with operatic structures and crushing guitar solos.

Damn, this almost got past me unnoticed.  Gotta order this. Lets hope there will be good songs such as Silently, January Sun and Beyond Daylight.

Just listening to this right now, and it's sounding awesome! The last 2 albums were totally superb, but this one is sounding as good. It sounds a bit darker, with "Scars Of An Angel", and especially "Sound Of Blood", and "The Final Murder" sounding menacing and evil. Vanden Plas are one of my fave prog bands, and its great to have them back. Great album so far! \m/

Same for me, if I don't browse the new releases I would not have known. I will check it out.

Ah, really liking this new album! Their last 2 ones are pretty good and this fits right in that category. As Angelic said, this one feels darker, which I like very much.

I'd have to say Quicksilver stands out pretty well. Amazing song, lyrics, vocals and music...
