Those of you who think that contemporary death metal is only capable of being lethally boring should really check out Australia's Profound Lore Records and in particular two bands on the roster: Portal and Impetuous Ritual. Modern death metal is a pretty single-minded rat race but Impetuous Ritual, the subject of this review, simply aren't bothered with all this nonsense.
