Hope the other tracks have more folk. I discover Elvenking with Two Tragedy Poet, I'm not sure if I like the metal side of them.

I have it, but I haven't listened to it, yet, but I have a feeling it would be like The Scythe. I hope not.

Leaked on the internet. Sounds like Pop metal, but taken apart from their older albums (which were more folk and more metal to me) it is quite decent^^

The cabal lacks a lot of the folk spirit we have come to expect of elvenking, i hope this is not evident in the rest of the album, which hopefully will be a lot more folk.

This shit is absolutely delicious! Love this band and they are keeping it heavy which is awesome.

This album is stunning. It is hard to call it all metal but there are definitely folk metal songs, or at least predominantly folk songs. Damna's voice is incredible and the slick, polished and powerful songwriting is spectacularly catchy. I can't say that I like it more than Heathenreel or The Winter Wake but it is a huge step up from The Scythe.
And, yes, Runereader is dope. That one could have come straight out of classic Elvenking.

The appeal of this music utterly eludes me. All I hear are lame formulaic pop songs with a bit of guitar in them; I don't hear anything that sounds remotely metal in it at all. There's no crunch, no oomph, no aggression, no balls whatsoever. It's like metal's embarrassingly lame cousin that just won't go away no matter how hard you try to ditch him. It has more in common with Britney Spears than Iron Maiden.

Their best since The Winter Wake and a return to form in my opinion. Highlights for me were 'Runereader', 'Your Heroes are Dead', 'Those Days' and 'The Play of Leaves'.

Very nice album! I love Elvenking's diversity.
Also, Damnagoras has a great and very unique voice.
