Likewise. Even with JOOE's Staff pick I still haven't summoned the energy to click a few buttons apparently. :/

Well I'm planning to go over their albums since 2009(when I first heard of this band, because as I heard they have an Oriental touch in their music, and I'm obsessed with the Oriental stuff). I haven't no idea about this album till now. Ok let's do it together.

You might even like this as it's not my usual type of pick, i.e. it's not a noisy dronefest

Will be interested to see what genre you think this is. I'm torn between death and black metal, I think more black but it could just be the vocals that are throwing me off.

In spite of it not belonging to your typical noise/drone stuff, I still wasn't overly impressed. It's catchy at times and the folk aspect definitely brings to mind Primordial/Melechesh/Nile and the like, but it's far from bad.

I'd say it's a mix of melodic black and blackened death...more emphasis on the black metal aspect for sure, but the death metal elements are undeniable.

I'd say progressive melodic black.

Anyway solid album, but I'm not gonna rate it yet.

There's no pleasing some people >:|

I really try to think of myself as someone who is actually easily pleased by the great wide world of music but apparently, despite my self-evaluation, it takes a lot to entice me.

I don't know if that means I don't enjoy music as much as I think I do, or if my standards are too high, or if I have less tolerance for metal specifically. :/

It means you're a big gay. Seriously though, I've found the further along time progresses the less I like things and more intolerant I become and the spectrum of that which I could like narrows.

Or maybe subconsciously I have some predisposition or something towards anything others recommend? I quite often find I enjoy most of what I find on my own, while very rarely do I enjoy what others tell me I should.

I would say that's a distinct possibility as I definitely "suffer" under that psychological "condition" - I don't really like being recommended stuff, though finding it myself on say, a list, is quite different as it was done under my own volition.

Uhhhh.... Blackened Oriental Death Metal? I thinks it's (the riffs at least) more Death then Black Metal.

I really like this band and their Vedic metal - both music and lyrics. Though, I must admit I enjoyed their previous record more.

Great album, interesting mixture of death, black metal and ethno-oriented sound. Very similar riffs to Melechesh, which is high point for me.
