Oh, what a cruel mistress that bitch called irony is... It only figures that a band would disband due to the untimely death of their songwriter once they released what is, in my humble opinion, their best release to date, and what might have been the conception of the style they would stick to, giving us many more releases to enjoy.

Not bad, but I think it should have been a bit more focused. I mean, there's too many moods and styles so the 'flow' somehow cracks.

I discovered Lifelover with this album and, I must say, what I enjoyed the most is the diversity of music presented here.

I would't call such rating "hate" at all. In fact... It's just want it deserves. While this isn't a major step in style, there are some differences. This is clearly their most "metal" album with more catchy and "rocking" riffs. Pretty good on paper but it doesn't feel that much "Lifelover" as I wanted it to be. About some more technical things... The production on the drums is kind of shitty, their other albums have way better sound (for a drum machine). The drums here sounds flat, too fake and too loud.
Also... I always disliked when they tried to use death metal kind of growls. It never fit them, sounds awkward and it's something they did quite a lot here.
Still a decent album but pales in comparison to anything else they have done. A mid-to-low 7.
