Black Metal. This is it. Ever wondered how black metal solos, breakdowns and - of course - banjos might sound? Ever wondered how black metal could develop in time if you do not count the many failed attempts of so called black metal bands to this style anymore? Well, this is it, this is Taake. The year is 2011 and the album bears the weapons of the north, the Noregs Vaapen. We have come that far and now we can overlook twenty years of black metal and we can see it all in one album.

The whole album is actually pretty rad stuff. The 10-second banjo solo isn't anything to get worked up about. It was just nice to hear.

Ok, I will download it legally right away, after I finish listening to Otargos's Kinetic Zero

Good fucking release, good, good, good. I've missed hearing black metal like this. And banjo part was fucking awesome for me.

I wish I could find the lyrics for Myr. :/

I'm considering buying this solely for the banjo solo.

Holy shit, this is, in it's purest form, what I call "music". An epic journey through the grim wastelands of the north - executed in with the greatest skill and musicianship. Windir + Darkthrone? The perfect combination!

Sounds way more groovy than the Taake I remember (as in good standard TNBM). Almost closer to Carpathian Forest-esque black n' roll sometimes, maybe. Should bury my head in Taake discography once again.

Hmm, weird how the quality of Taake songs is directly related to the amount of banjo it features.

Came here for the banjo comments, not disappointed. Fucking awesome song, love when Metal bands includes random instruments. First time hearing a banjo though.
