Too bad Lazare and Cornelius are still on this Icelandic Odyssey.. =/
I prefer the bizarre avantgarde random subjects of the pre-Red For Fire era.
Still gonna check this out with high hopes. o/

*Edited* Not in the same vein as the Icelandic Odyssey albums, sound wise, and thats cool. I've always like that they never sound the same and that they constantly experiment with odd not so expected sounds / ideas.
That being said this is definitely a more insane album like in the Pills... Harmonia... or even neonism albums. While I still feel this one has firm roots in an awesome black metal sound.
Subjects are not as bizzare avantgarde or plain odd as featured earlier, as it seems to be concentrated on early 1900-century Norway.

Solefald being one of my favourite bands, and definitely favourite Avantguarde band, I had to give this album 3, which I think Ive so far given only to Metallica. A total fiasco in my opinion, it sounds as if they were thinking "oh its better to have some poorly thought, generic and boring riffs than nothing". Disappointed, totally.

Høgnorsk (the norwegian form sung on this album) sounds so good. A shame its so rarely used.
