This album, released exactly on Halloween of the year 2000, represents the beginning of Cradle of Filth's commercial era. A bitter disappointment for me, great for some other people. Don't get me wrong, I think that this album is anything but bad, but it's simply softer, more Gothic orientated than I would like. OK, let's descend into Midian.
Though my favourite COF album will always be 'Cruelty...', 'Midian' has the best riffs and solos-all of the guitar work is just so choppy and clean sounding, and the keyboards only help to make everything sound more epic than it already is. The reason its not a 10 is because i felt that this was the beginning of the decline of Dani Filth's vocals...
