The new album is excellent!!!! After my first spin, I don't think it's as spectacular as Grave New World, but it's an all around amazing effort by these Finns! We'll see how it goes after several more listens.

Soulfallen has got a distinct sound to them which I really enjoy. The mix of melodic death and black metal, together with some bombastic symphonic sections made their previous album Grave New World a pleasant listen.
With The Promise of Hell their sound is luckily intact but the major problem I have got with it is that it lacks all the little details that make the songs differ enough from each other and stick in your mind afterwards. All of the songs just end up feeling "pretty good" which is a shame.

Heard it a couple times now...amazing dark album...diffidently on the top 10 of best albums of 2010
