Graveyard are a relatively new band hailing from Sweden bringing back a very old sound to our ears. Hisingen Blues is their second album of absolute classic blues rock heaven. This is hard rock with a heavy side of blues and a hint of psychedelic rock thrown in for good measure. Dirty guitars, dirty vocals, Graveyard are stuck in the 70's and it hasn't sounded better in the modern age than it does here.

Oh boy. Another surprise hit this year. It may not be the most original music ever, but each track on this album packs a punch with tons of feeling and atmosphere. So next time your girlfriend/boyfriend or friends come over for some maximum chillage, put your Zeppelin albums away for a night and put Hisingen Blues in your sound system. Let Graveyard help you relax and then make some drinks, make some friends, make some memories, and maybe (if you're lucky) make a little bit of love tonight.

Brilliant album. Very powerful stuff. And I like the nods at classic bands like "Uncomfortably Numb". XD

I expected myself not to enjoy this given that throwback bands are a dime a dozen nowadays. This though...its the real deal. Very impressed.

After many, many listens, I decided to issue this album a ten... I don't do this often, but I think every second of this album is pure gold. =3

Listened to this one for the first time yesterday. It makes me remember why I like blues rock so much.
Needs a lot more spins.

Well... Perhaps. I appreciate certain old sounding new albums (e.g. Ghost's latest which I ended liking it enough to give it a 9), but I guess I just don't quite feel the nostalgia here

Or because it sounds incredibly raw and sincerely emotive. I'm not even *that* big of a classic hard/blues rock fan, but this album tickles me pink.

I haven't listened to it (and most likely won't), I was just assuming.

I'm the other way around, I don't feel that much with Ghost's album... The old school spirit wasn't really there, just the music. This guys really breath the genre imo.

Great album to enjoy the music while reminiscing of the good ol' 70's. Not like I can do the reminiscing part, though, as I was born in the eighties.
Anyway Hisingen Blues is one of the rare jewels presented before us in the previous year, and it would be very unwise to discard this album (unless you're a passionate hard/blues rock hater, which is also not too wise ).

Why won't anybody even mention that band is heavily influenced by witchcraft? I would say complete rip-off if former album had not been very good but this one is good also and the singer is great. Witchcraft sucked big time at their last album Nucleus and seemed to lost their originality but this people sounds promising; all they need is their own sound and decent lyrics.

There is a lot of similarity to Witchcraft indeed, but I'm sure we all know that the influences come from way past, 70s even. Everyone influences everyone.

All who wanna hear a killer song check out "Samaritan Burden" (by Witchcraft).

The vocals are very intense and cool, the music takes you into a different world but I cannot help but say that this album is way overrated. From the comments and the ratings here on Metal Storm, I was expecting something that will blow out of my mind (and I wasn't expecting something technical). and boy was I let down. It is a nice addition to my music library but it's a normal album with a special mood. Many songs sound alike and I cannot make the difference between most of them. A 7 for me and just for originality and atmosphere.
