ROOOAAAAAADD TRRRRIIIIIIIIIPPP!
Hurry up and grab a two-four of PBR and hop in the station wagon, this is going to be one hell of a trip. The boys of Red Fang are going to take on a cross-country musical journey, and you're going to like it.
Okay, so it's not THAT mind blowing, but Red Fang have made a decent album. "But BoxCar, aren't you in love with this band? Shouldn't it be better than "decent"?" Actually no, it's just decent. Why? Because the album has been done before, you're not finding anything new or really that extraordinary. Sure the music is slamming, but I can name 5 bands on the spot that play something similar. Also, this album seems to have quite a bit of filler, especially the song "Throw Up", that my friends, is 6 minutes of boring. Another nitpick is the effects, however these are both pluses, and negatives, a negative being the overuse of said effects, especially the "squeal" this is most notable at the end of "Wires", for almost a minute it blocks out and detracts from the other awesome riff displayed. They add a nice plus when not overused however, almost ambient at some points.

Stonerish tunes for drunk people, by drunk people. Those of greener intoxicant persuasions will probably need to stub out their spliffs and shotgun a PBR or five if they want to really get it.

These guys definitely need more attention. Another one of my favourites this year. This one has been on my playlists for a while now. I'm not really into band videos, but the song wires has one of my favourite videos and it looked like they had a shit load of fun making it as well. Looking forward to their next video as well which they shot recently. Plus they seem like a really fun bunch of dudes.

Meh...seemed like pretty average stoner rock to me. Nothing special.

These guys just played this live at a birthday party for a sandwich shop in Portland with support from Brian Posehn and a couple local comedians the other day. Was like a beer-soaked dream of some kind... a beer soaked dream with the most nightmarish fucking security I've ever come across. Got thrown out for "lurching" around the bar. My friend got kicked out for spilling his beer on a staircase. Missed everything.
Cool premise though. Made me think how cool it'd be to see something like a Shining/Dane Cook show in the future.

Dane Cook would need to embrace his feminine side if he ever wanted to share a stage with Kvarforth.

Really good stoner metal, upon the first couple of listens I thought it was ok but then it grew on me really fast and suddenly I am hearing it differently and it sound simply great. I can understand if someone thinks there average after just one or two listens but I urge to keep listening.
