The first time I heard this album, it sounded incredible to me. Second time, pretty good. 3rd, just average and kind of "fake", if you know what I mean.

Fake? I definitely don't know what you mean. 
I think this is a well-executed tech-death release that takes advantage of some really nice melodies. Outstanding songwriting.

Seriously one of my favorite debuts of all time. Not sure exactly where he's coming from with 'fake'.

Just relistened this today, and I must say I agree with Benighted. One of the best debuts ever.

This is by far their best album. It's head and shoulders above the rest of their work. A Celebration of Guilt is a prime example of the "band couldn't top their debut" syndrome.

I'd say their follow up EP matches this. After that though it's not worth bothering.
