It's 2002, and the cheesiest band ever in power metal, Freedom Call, reaches a peak of quality that these guys will not equal, at least until now. Eternity comes after the nice Crystal Empire, but it's just another level. The German band has not changed its style, the guys have simply improved their fundamentals that make Freedom Call one of the flagships of happy and easy-listening power metal from Germany.

Rating: 8 An awesome album!
Turn Back Time has to be one of the most catchiest closers ever.

Sure 'tis, Mayhem.

Rating: 7 I remember seeing this band at Bloodstock a few years ago, and my mate next to me ended up saying it was the happiest power metal he'd ever heard-and he's listened to a lot. Nonetheless, this is a very enjoyable, consistent album if not an overly surprising one (I sort of expected what this album would sound like before even pressing play). That said, I can't really pinpoint any highlights because all songs are pretty good, though I did quite like the slightly darker-tinged nature of "Flame in the Night". The keyboard work for me is a little off-putting, but thankfully it's not too overdone.

A bit overrated. I prefer Crystal Empire or Legend Of The Shadowking...
