31.05.2014 The most varied and adventurous Vader album. I didn't think they could surprise me, but they did, and I've been a fan since 1990...

Sorry, the legacy of this post has to continue...

People still care about Vader? I used to love them to death, but they have been the most boring band ever for the past like 5+ years. Bleh.

I remember this previously had the generic title "Welcome To Hell" whereas this title is pretty good. The Nuclearblast website said that the translation is "For You (And Only You) Fire".
deadone - 13.12.2013 at 07:13
I prefer the more generic title (even if it's ripping Venom off).

Tibi Et Igni sounds like something done by one of these lame folk metal bands that are plaguing the genre.

I think it's more in the vein of "To the fire". Like, as an order.
Lit. - 13.12.2013 at 22:59
Well, why couldn't they just use English like normal people?

And I say: Why the hell not? I don't care... In fact, it'd be cool if they sang in polish every once in a while. I like when bands sing in their own language instead of the usual english.
deadone - 16.12.2013 at 07:15
Doesn't really matter as it's growled any way.

It's latin for "you and fire".

Also, YAY more VADER!!!

Since when is Folk plaguing death metal?
deadone - 31.01.2014 at 07:57
Whoops. That was plaguing metal as a whole.

It means For you and the fire, it is Latin.

After listening to some samples of the album i got the feeling that it's really average and the band repeats itself. reading all those comments of how pleasing it is makes me wonder if i should change my expectations and give it a try...

I definitely agree with you. I love everything Vader have released in the last ten years, but this album was really boring. "Light Reaper" is a sweet track, but apart from that I think everything sounds really mediocre.
EnigmaLake - 31.05.2014 at 14:58
A boring song or two from Vader is above most bands, the whole thing crushes on my 5.1 system. I hope people aren't judging this listening to it on earbuds or laptops. They are one of the top metal bands around and this is an astonishing work from them.

The album title, not the music!
!J.O.O.E.! - 01.06.2014 at 12:18
Since when do folk bands entitle their stuff in Latin? Surely if anything this album title then is more black metal than anything else.
Bad English - 01.06.2014 at 14:30
Classic vader as good as other ones, another band what never changes

pkillerjp - 03.06.2014 at 17:58
Haven't heard this one yet, but I thought Welcome to the Morbid Reich was their best by far, really far. If this album is just aping the last one, I'd enjoy it. Most bands start strong and fade as they release more and more albums, Vader has done the opposite, their early stuff bores me to sleep..Litany was the first one that sparked my interest, although ridiculously over-rated..Morbid Reich was perfect.

Rating: 8 Yep. Vader. Crushing sound. Excellent performances and production. Drums sounds amazing. Not anything overly innovative but some of those riffs and solos are going to stick.

It means "for you and fire" in Latin. It was used centuries ago to indacate that the reader of a message is supposed to burn it after reading.
EDIT: this is the explanation that Peter gave in an interview with a Polish magazine.

Thank you for the explanation! It makes much more sense that way.

Rating: 8 Cmon , guys remember that Vader ' s musicians are 50 years old, so dont force them to play as wild and crazy as 20 years ago, for me they are great with this stuff, and if some of you think that they play more melodic or boring for me id doesnt really matter ; great band , great lp, and great bonus songs especially when you understand polish ...
Alex Fenger - 04.06.2014 at 17:02
Rating: 6 Eh, pretty unimpressive after two listens. I've never been able to get into Vader as much as other people it seems.

The bonus songs are terrible

In my opinion - bonus songs are the best on this album Especially song in Polish what is quite rare and even growled can be understandable.
Sound like classic Vader from early years perfect!

I was just about to give them another try but I forgot I deleted them from my library haha. They were marring what was otherwise an enjoyable album. The Polish was not the issue for me, the songs in general were just laughable.

Unimpressive but pretty much exactly what you can expect from Vader these days. Good-but-not-great death metal.
