One man bands have more or less always caught my attention, mostly due to the inspiring testaments to individual potential that lurk within them. Many of metal's repeat offenders within this realm of solidarity have kept relatively quiet this year, but now the silence is being broken once more by the little known, though highly accomplished Chaos Moon, beloved offspring of America's very own Alexander "Esoterica" Poole.

  Yeah baby

The whole thing is already up on bandcamp.

Enjoy (or don't)!
Karlabos - 03.07.2014 at 17:28
Rating: 7 A bit more straightforward and slow paced than I was expecting, but still pretty good

First listen is positive. Not as good as the previous one but then again, that one is fucking awesome so I wasn't exactly expecting something as good.
But yeah... It's good and the main sound is still there.

Rating: 9 Absolutely loving this.

Rating: 8 Probably the best thing the band has released, but still not worth more than an 8 or so. Either way it's really solid and highly enjoyable

Rating: 8 This sounds like black metal with some nice doom elements if you ask me.

Really great stuff. Highly enjoyable indeed. One of those albums that I enjoy immediately, which is a good thing (for a change).

  Doom in Chaos Moon?

What in the name of fuck?
Alex Fenger - 28.07.2014 at 22:23
Rating: 8 What Rod said. There is quite literally no doom to be found in any Chaos Moon.

Well, I typed it when I just heard the intro. Pretty doomy intro.

Ah that makes more sense. Intros are not exactly what I'd classify an album by though.

Yeah, fair enough. I think it's indeed not correct to call this doom, though I would say some parts on here sound doomy. But of course that's pretty subjective.

Its a good idea to write your thoughts on an album AFTER you listened to it

Yeah, that's what I do most of the time. This was an exception...

Drags on a little to the point I feel it would have earned a higher score from me had it been closer to the 45-minute mark, but this was still quite enjoyable.
