Once again, I'm totally underwhelmed with this band. The songs feel like demo versions that never got fully fleshed out. This guitar player has got some chops though. He needs to join a better band or get everyone else on point.

This band seems to be getting more and more derivative every album. The first three were unique and memorable. The latest just seems to retread previously charted territory.

Edit: After a few repeated listens, this album has grown on me a fair bit. Still not something I would put on over Existence is Futile or Chaos of Forms, but still decent and better than the previous two.

Revocation downgraded material since "Existence is Futile". They been biodegradable own records and now has come to the point where you hardly left anything good to listen.

I stopped listening since '13 when they released a cheap-plastic-on-sale self-title which had too many annoying moments in it.

Agreed. That one being my personal favorite of theirs and one of their only decent albums when compared alongside the latest efforts. Dave Davidson is a monster guitarist but it seems like he can't piece a song together anymore like in the band's earlier days.

Yeah they've lost a lot of their songwriting juice. Don't know why they put out mediocre albums in rapid succession instead of taking their time for songwriting and come up with good stuff. Doesn't mean this album is bad by any length, it still has the revocation sound and incredible guitar chops but just falls uninspired and forgettable.

Well, I finished listening to new Revocation the other night and as expected, it was totally unappealing. Very uninspired, bland, extremely loose structured and more importantly, boring record. I've said it before and has found this time again, they've reached to the point of rehashing. "Empire Of The Obscene" re-cycled versions not working anymore. They did with self-title and now doing with this record as well. It is time they really need to figure it out about themselves.
