Epitaph:
Juhani Palomäki (1977-2010)
The bells toll the end of time.
Our deeds have been written and the final judgement is at hand.
There will be no new beginning, brighter days nor gloomier nights.
The future seems insignificant.
The herd will fall by its leader but forever stand for his beliefs and remembrance.
Your presence shall be imminent.
Farewell, Juhani. May you rest in peace.

Perhaps the only thing more depressing than this album is that it's the last album Colosseum are going to release, due to the only other other thing perhaps more depressing than this album: Juhani Palomäki's tragic death.
And in case you were wondering - yes, Parasomnia is the epitome of bittersweet.

Thinking about that while listening to this album is overwhelming.

For some rason... That was one of the most bloodchilling epitaphs I've read in my life. I think the music helped a great deal to make me feel that way.

This album sounds like one big long procession...I can just imagine the casket being held up and people walking very slowly towards an unmarked grave. The riffs in Passage to Eternity towards the end are very cathartic to me. I'm not much of a fan of funeral doom, but this is good stuff. My first experience with Colosseum, but I will be listening to more. Juhani is certainly resting in power.
The bad news...it grows tedious much of the time. A solid album nonetheless.

Yea and their second effort too. You don't wanna miss tracks like The River or Prosperity, do you?

I finally got it and gave it a listen at night in completely darkness. Holy shit you're not kidding. Immense indeed. The brutal and omg-so-haunting vocals, the riffs, the drums and the use of keyboards...Everything. Nothing short of of a mezmerising piece of art imo.

I dunno bros, Chapter 1 is my least fave (Saturnine Vastness and Weather fucking slay though). It sounds a bit... flat and amateur-ish.
