This is fantastic. Definitely got my mories-nerve tickling but it has a sound of its own nevertheless. Sweet bass sounds.

Yes, the audible bass was one of the first things that reminded of a Mories' type sound. And I agree, there's definitely a unique strain running through this that makes it far more than just a copy of his work.
You're welcome Pazdz

I dunno about whether Mories had an influence, but I really like this anyway

Those vocals.
Nice and buried in the mix. How black metal vocals should be.

Well I'd say that depends on the type of black metal, but they work perfectly in this situation

This one certeanly appeals a lot to me. Appereantly the avantgarde black metal is spreading really fast all around the world. I'm going to give it a listen right now.

We should henceforth declare a new wave in black metal.

My god, on the front page recommendation the genre tags have the be the biggest turn-off I could fathom, although I have to say the cover art of this is just great.

You don't have to congratulate me for not being butt-hurt over a genre tagg. And nice sarcasm attempt too btw, but next time make it funny.

Don't assume that everyone has to enjoy a certain genre you like, I was simply saying that while the genre is a turn-off to me from wanting to listen the album artwork is awesome. I happen to not enjoy your precious avant-garde dark ambient black metal and to be honest you're the butthurt one if that actually goes to the point of bothering you.
(please don't reply to this I have spent more than enough time on this trivial matter already. please)

Exactly... but then again... Let's be honest here: The "congratulation" post was the starting point of both of you dicking around since the one before didn't have any malice behind it.
Back on topic: Even if you don't like the tags I would suggest you to listen to it anyway. Can't bother to count all those times I end up enjoying something from a genre I usually hate. You never know until you try.

Horny worms ey? It certainly looks interesting, that's one of the coolest album covers I've ever seen.

Well, as a reward for injecting a small amount of reason into the thread I'll throw it in my "bands to listen to someday" notepad document... and at some point give it a shot got a good vibe from the bandcamp page anyways.

When did I assume that But you said it in a butthurted fashion (Exclamation "My god" + reclaim). I just answered to your sarcasm which was uncalled for. And I get it, you don't enjoy the genre.
You can get back to your transcendental matters now.
Back on topic: I really enjoyed the album and although it's very dissonant, it has a really direct and heavy approach. Definetely as good as some of the same genre last year.

Well, I couldn't get my head around Mories's work yet but this I do like. That bass... everything is deliciously mixed at least for black metal standards.

Heheheh, yeah I can see this is as some sort of training before going all deep into Mories' work. Not to say that this is a carbon copy but it does feature a lot of the same elements.

First great black metal record of 2013.
Yeah, good pick man. Reminds me a lot of Oranssi Pazuzu, albeit a tad less aggressive in its delivery
|
|
|
|
|

I can only compare them it terms of "space" sound but that would mean that Oranssi Pazuzu is also comparable to Darkspace... Which is quite nuts, to me.
So, yeah... don't see so much in common between Wormlust and Oranssi Pazuzu. I can only compare this to Morie's work.

I wouldn't even say it's as similar to Mories' work as people are saying. There are basic similarities, but in all Wormlust have their own distinct sound. Literally nothing like Oranssi though. Not jam-y enough

I'm not saying they are the same... But there are obvious similarities and it's the only plausible comparison to me.

Yeah, it's the riffs and bass... It reminds me mostly of Cloak Of Altering more than any other Morie's project. A maelstrom of dissonant melodies and a pulsing bass coming right at you. Some of the high vocals are similar too. The overall production is also the same.

Oh of course the bass, forgot about that. Rarely do I hear that kind of bass in anything else.
