Nåstrond - Biography

This band's profile is 'invisible', meaning that it's much less prominent on the site - either because it's incomplete, or maybe doesn't entirely fit MS format.

Biography

The band was formed in Sweden in 1993 by Karl NE (guitar, vocals, keyboard), Arganas (drums) and some other person. They started out as Trident, symbol of the devil. Later that year the group was reduced to two members and they changed name to Nåstrond (which means "corpse-beaches"). Same year they made the demo "The Black Winter" where three of the songs were used on their next demo "From a Black Funeral Coffin". It was released January in 1994 and was limited to 666 copies. Again same year they released the 7" EP "Digerdöden".

In 1995 they released their first full-length album, "Toteslaut", which had themes about necromancy, vampirism etc. In 1996 they began recording their second album "Age of Fire" which was released in 1997. The album contained even more sampling, keyboards and synths than before, but even more was used on their third album "Celebration of the Four". The band also released another 7" EP entitled "The Aeon of Force and Fire". Karl also managed to re-mix the album "Celebration of the Four" and added a fifth track (not released yet).

In 2003 the band re-released the LP's "Digerdöden" and "From a Black Funeral Coffin". Nåstrond have excisted for 10 years, and they have begun making a 10 years anniversary.
