Biography

KAOTHIC was founded in Madrid, in the beginning of 2001, by Alberto Marín, AVULSED's guitar player in their American tours in 2000 and 2001. The band started as a Death Metal formation, with brutal death vocalist David Cuñado, Marcos de la Calle on Drums and Gustavo Romero on Bass.

With this lineout the band did some gigs; probably the most important of them was being one of the guest bands in the 10th anniversary of AVULSED which took place in Ritmo y Compás, December 2001 in Madrid.

In April 2002 the band entered the studio to record their fist self-produced CD. The album was engineered and produced by BIGSIMON (Saratoga, Terroristars, Ebony Ark, Coilbox, Dreamaker), probably one of the most outstanding producers in Spain today. The recordings took place in Sintonía 1 studios in Madrid. Those sessions lasted longer than what was expected. The band evolved a lot during that time, and their musical direction changed. This change led to the replacement of their brutal death vocalist David Cuñado with the current vocalist David Curtonates. During the period of finding a new vocalist and rearranging the vocals lines, the recording sessions were stopped.

The band presented their new lineout live with David Curtonates in July '04, receiving very good comments from fans and local media. After that, David got involved in a summer tour with his parallel band, and after the tour, they recorded their first album. Alberto seized the opportunity to cooperate with other bands, and, since autumn 2003, he is an official member of SKUNK D.F.. So for about six months, the final recordings and mixing were delayed again, but the rest of the band didn't stand still and kept composing new songs.

Finally, in February 2004, KAOTHIC got in the studio again with BIGSIMON and finished the album at M20 Studios in Madrid. "Order to Chaos" was finally released in Spain, January the 10th 2005, by the spanish label Avispa and will soon be available in many other countries.

In December '05 they recorded "SWEET LOBOTOMY" for the new album of AVULSED, "REANIMATIONS", which was released in March '06.

In late May '06, David left the band, just a week before entering the studio again to start recording their second album. After two months of rehearsals with candidate singers, Ciro E. Sánchez (also member of SKYNET) became KAOTHIC's new frontman, and the band continued preparing the new material.
