Biography
Motion Device is a rock band from Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The band started uploading videos to Youtube in 2010 when they began covering rock and metal bands from the past and present like Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, Dream Theater, Led Zeppelin, Rush and many more.
As the band grew they began writing their own material. It quickly became evident that their fans enjoyed the original material more than the covers. Their latest crowd-funding campaign in 2017 accumulated over $60,000 (CDN) in contributions from fans across the globe and resulted in the release of ‘WIDE AWAKE’ – a double CD concept album with over one hour and forty-five minutes of music.
Motion Device is fronted by Sara on vocals along with her sister Andrea on bass and keys, their brother David on drums and cousin Josh on guitar. They have steadily built a solid fan base through social media with their Youtube channel and Facebook pages growing rapidly everyday.
The band’s sound is influenced by a variety of rock genres including hard rock, progressive rock, classic rock, heavy metal and blues with a good dose of thought-provoking lyrics. Motion Device strives to create music that not only sounds good to the ears, but hopefully moves something inside us and helps people get through this incredible yet complex journey we call… LIFE.
Alex Defrancesco left the band in early 2016 to discover other options in music.
