Biography

GLORYFUL was formed summer 2010 by lead singer Johnny La Bomba and Shredmaster JB.
Their 3-track demo "Sedna’s Revenge" quickly gained them a high reputation among the classic heavy metal underground. Already at that time the band played numerous shows with bands like Powerwolf, Vicious Rumours, Ordan Ogan as well as Helstar and left enthusiastic crowds longing for their debut album behind.

Their strong debut album "The Warrior's Code", which was mixed and mastered by legendary Swedish sound alchemist Dan Swanö, impressed both fans and press all over the world.
To promote the debut album, the band played more than 30 shows with acts such as Queensryche, Axxis, Bullet oder High Spirits and proved every night, that they are a guarantee for original and entertaining heavy metal shows.

Merely 10 months after the release of "The Warrior’s Code" the heavy metal-possessed five-piece serves again with their second album "Ocean Blade".

No matter if it’s the stomping opener "Hiring The Dead", speed metal cracker such as "The Master’s Hands" and "All Men To The Arms" or downright metal hymns like "Cradle Of Heroes", the band celebrates all the disziplines at a suprisingly high hit density! And for sure it is mainly the authentic and unique lead voice of fronter and the band´s main songwriter Johnny La Bomba that rises GLORYFUL easily above today’s power metal mishmash.

Thematically, "Ocean Blade" is the logic next step after "The Warrior’s Code", as it carries forward the Inuit-legend of sea goddess Sedna. This time the lyrical concept reaches even deeper inside the fictional GLORYFUL-universe: the tragic destiny of the "Ocean Blade" crew, the odyssey in search for Sedna, the fight against the creature - in short a mystical adventure on the high seas presented in the classic heavy metal style.

"Ocean Blade" was mixed by the legendary Dan Swanö. The Swedish sound guru himself about the band’s new album: "GLORYFUL returns with an even better album than the debut and once again show the world that this kind of metal is best German-made!"
The album was mastered by Charles Greywolf (guitarist of Germany’s Powerwolf), so be sure "Ocean Blade" blasts even more heavy and hard as steel through your speakers.

Belgian artist Kris Verwimp is once again responsible for the, without a doubt, epic old-school cover artwork of "Ocean Blade". He has also created the artwork of GLORYFUL’s debut album "The Warrior’s Code".

With "Ocean Blade" and the third album "End Of The Night" GLORYFUL definitely has proven to the current classic heavy metal scene how much potential they have! Now, with their latest effort called "Cult Of Sedna", it should be clear that they are at the top of the list of German heavy metal hopefuls!
