Ahab fans are probably eager to hear the follow-up to 2012's The Giant and it is coming. The funeral doom metal band has been recording their new album and while many details are still under wraps, they have confirmed a release for around August/September 2015. Besides that, the band has also shared the pencil scribble of the album's cover which is being created by Sebastian Jerke. Bear in mind that it is still a work in progress.
Being in a funeral doom metal band does not mean you can't have a sense of humor. Indeed, that's one of the messages the German horde Ahab showed through a comical set of photos via their Facebook page, and as the band has put it: "As music business is a dirty business find here an 'educational' comic how to better NOT sign a record deal." Not only that but they have also officially announced their contract renewal with Napalm Records.
This year marks the 10th anniversary of UK's Damnation Festival 2014. This upcoming November is one of celebration and German doom titans Ahab, and Icelandic atmospheric metal outfit Sólstafir are the latest names to be added to the tenth edition of the fest. More bands across four stages are still to be announced.

German funeral doom metallers Ahab have revealed that the band's new album will be entitled The Giant and will be released in May. The band issued the following studio update on their Facebook page: "Here is the first video-teaser from our upcoming album The Giant which will be available in May 2012. Let us know what you think about it and spread the word."
The song featured in the teaser is called "Further South", taken from the new album.
German doom masters Ahab have entered the Überwälder Klangdressur studio to begin recording their as-yet-untitled follow-up album to The Divinity Of Oceans. The band has now checked in from the recording process with the following brief update: "We've finished the drum recording and the bass recordings and it sounds outstanding. Today Heci will follow with the guitar recording. There will be some pics later this week."

In the end of January we'll enter studio to record the yet untitled follow up of The Divinity Of Oceans. These days we're in the final writing session to finish the compositions. We promise to keep on informing you about the process this time.

Ahab have revealed the song titles of their upcoming as-yet-untitled record. The album will contain seven songs and will be based on the wreckage of the Essex. The band is currently mixing its sophomore album at Klangschmiede Studio E for a late spring/early summer release via Napalm Records.
