The Black Locust Project - New Band Of Former Theatre Of Tragedy Drummer

More than a year after Theatre Of Tragedy has called it quits, ex-drummer Hein Frode Hansen formed a new band called The Black Locust Project.

The line-up is completed by Kristian Sigland (The Crest) on vocals, guitars and bass and guitarist Marcus Granlien (To Cast A Shadow).

The band's sound will take a more progressive route than Theatre Of Tragedy, but still can be considered as Gothic. According to the band, The Black Locust Project is single minded in its mission to create music... sincere music, deeply grounded in our roots and hearts.

The Black Locust Project has already finished recorded their debut album and are currently in search for a label now. Two full-length tracks, called "We Remain Strangers" and "Wounded Sky", are available for streaming over at the band's Facebook page. Both songs feature background vocals of Nell SIgland (The Crest, ex-Theatre Of Tragedy).

Rage Nucléaire - New Project By Ex-Cryptopsy Vocalist

Rage Nucléaire - the new project led by ex-Cryptopsy vocalist Dan "Lord Worm" Greening - are finishing up the last pieces of their upcoming debut album, entitled Unrelenting Fucking Hatred.

Said Lord Worm to Bravewords: "Rage Nucléaire is a hate-filled blend of melodic black metal and violent industrial. It's a three-piece and its other component parts are Alvater on guitar, synth, drum programming, and background vocals, and Dark Rage on guitar, background vocals, and secret things even I'm not privy to.

A full-length CD, Unrelenting Fucking Hatred, is currently in the works. The three of us seem to share the same bleak world vision, for one thing, and this shows up very clearly in the compositions. Alvater used to be in the godly Frozen Shadows, and I know he hasn't spent nearly a fraction of his accumulated rage. Dark Rage and I don't do a lot of cretinous smiling, either.

Also, I remember a talk with (ex-Cryptopsy guitarist) Steve Thibault about ten years ago, in which he said something about having one more album left in him. As it turns out, he didn't, but I've often thought about that, and I figure I might have one or two left to expiate. As the millennium progresses, so does the aural assault perpetrated by really nasty practitioners of the Black Art; good. I just want to add my voice to the global chorus of discomfiture. And so, I will.

I'm still into doing live stuff but we'll have to see about that. There is also some material being written for a second release, and we'll probably have to put up a Facebook page, too, at some point. Other than that, I'm just looking forward to being dead, but then, aren't we all."

Nightrage - New Album Details

Nightrage have revealed the following statement about their upcoming 5th album entitled Insidious, which will be released on September 26th in Europe and a day later in North America.

"The new Nightrage album is ready! We are extremely happy with the results and we look forward to sharing this music with all of you. Here is the journey thus far:

"We recorded the music at Zero Gravity studios on Athens, Greece with our great friend Terry Nikas at the helm. He did a fantastic job and provided us with an amazing environment and atmosphere to make the best record possible. Antony had the pleasure as well to work on the vocals in a very different setting with Ryan Butler at his Arcane Digital Recording studio in Arizona. Ryan has been assisting us with demo sessions since the last album and it felt very natural for us to try the final product with him.

"We then went to Studio Fredman located in Gothenburg Sweden for the mix and master. Our longtime producer Fredrik Nordström and Henrik Udd worked long and hard to make the best out of what we gave them. We have recorded sixteen songs overall, and as we promised before our guest players actually need no introduction.

Insidious tracklist:

1. So far Away (Intro)
2. Delirium Of The Fallen (w/ Apollo Papathanasio of Firewind)
3. Insidious (w/ Tomas Lindberg of At The Gates/ Lock Up)

Meliah Rage - Working On New Album

US power thrash metal band Meliah Rage are currently working on new material for their next album.

The band issued the following update on MySpace: "It's been quite some months since we updated this page, so it's time to catch up with things and tell you what's been going on in the Meliah camp recently.

First of all, vocalist Paul Souza has returned to the band to record our new full-length CD as well as our first-ever cover song, "Halo of Flies" (originally on Alice Cooper's 1971 classic Killer LP). The song will be a bonus track on the soon to be re-released remix of 2004's "Barley Human" (that will be officially called "Barely Human Remix").

Our original singer Mike Munro has become very dedicated to his church and recently spent time volunteering in Haiti - he felt these and other missions of goodwill would not allow him the flexibility of schedule to tour with Meliah Rage.

We feel very fortunate that we have the ability to work with Paul again, complete this CD and play some shows. Souza was the singer when we toured with Metal Church across the U.S. in 2007.

Our next album will be called Dead To The World and is slated for a July release (the label to put it out will be announced very soon). It will coincide with our (first in 21 years) visit in Europe: we'll play at the Headbangers Open Air festival in Germany on July 29th. We're currently looking for other shows possibilities too.

As far as the new album is concerned: we've already tracked all instruments and we're very excited about how things are progressing. All that remains now are the vocals!"

Theatre Of Tragedy - Potential DVD In The Works

Theatre Of Tragedy, who have decided to break up at the end of the year, need your help for their farewell project. Here's the story.

As some of you might have heard already, Theatre Of Tragedy are planning their first and last DVD with lots of live and background footage. The DVD should be some kind of farewell gift to the fans.

Though due to unforeseen events, it is getting quite difficult to get through with it. The band thought the financial side was cleared (about 25.000 Euros) but it was withdrawn at the last moment. This was quite a shock for everyone and the band had to think of a solution to go on with the DVD.

After lots of talk, the label will now give 10.000 Euros and the band members themselves will also give 10.000 Euro for the production of the DVD. This leaves a missing 5.000 Euros. The band's idea is to give you the possibility to make this DVD possible with your donations.

Said Theatre Of Tragedy: "If we don't reach 5.000 Euros within a week we will pay all your donations back of course but we sadly have to bury the idea of this DVD then. If you donate 100 Euros or more we will put your name on the DVD cover and send you a signed DVD after the release. Let's give this a try. It's our last chance for a final Theatre of Tragedy release!"
