Saxon have released a new video for their single "Sacrifice", taken from their upcoming 20th album of the same name. The song is the title track of Sacrifice, which will be released on March 1st in Europe, March 4th in the UK, and March 26th in North America via UDR. More album details here.
UK heavy metal legends/veterans Saxon are definitely not familiar with the word rest. The band has just announced a string of European tour dates as part of their Sacrifice World Tour, on which they will be touring in support of the new upcoming, already 20th studio album - Sacrifice, which comes out on February 22nd in Europe and February 26th, 2013 in North America through UDR.
Legendary Saxon vocalist Peter "Biff" Byford will guest on Avantasia's forthcoming album The Mystery Of Time. He joins Uriah Heep's drummer Russell Gilbrook, producer and guitarist Sascha Paeth and former Kiss guitarist Bruce Kulick in the ensemble.

UK heavy metal veterans Saxon have checked in with the following announcement about gearing up to record a new album, which is expected to be released early next year: "Hi everybody! We are very busy these days with the new album and we have already a few ideas together. I am writing melodies and lyrics and arranging them into songs. We will give the rest of the band a break for hols. After that we have a full session in April before heading to the mighty sugar loaf and rock São Luís! We are really looking forward to coming back to celebrate an awesome party with our South American fans! Needless to say that the Rock In Den Ruinen Festival in Germany is also going to be great!"

"We have finally got the tour dates for remainder of 2011 scheduled. First we will be putting our attention on America where we've added three more gigs. We are also very pleased to let you all know that our good old mates from Anvil will be our special guests on the continental European dates. Completing the tour package is Crimes Of Passion, who will be opening the shows. For the grand finale we will rock the UK once again where we've got Hammerfall as our special guest."

Saxon have penned two tracks for the forthcoming British film Hybrid Theory.
The movie will be directed by James Erskin (One Night in Turin), and is starring Noel Clarke (Kidulthood), Martin McCann (Killing Bono, Clash of The Titons), Martin Compston (Disappearance of Alice Creed), Craig Conway (Descent, Dog Soldiers, Doomsday). Shooting will begin in June this year.
The tracks feature on Saxon's new album Call to Arms and have been written specially for the film.
Hybrid Theory follows a group of British soldiers who find themselves in a life or death battle with an enemy beyond their wildest nightmares in this slick Sci-Fi/Horror with a twist.
Hybrid Theory producer Lionel Hicks sums up the collaboration: "It's great to have a band like Saxon involved in the soundtrack to this film. These new songs really capture the mood of the film, and everyone working on it is thrilled."
