Enslaved - To Release 'The Sleeping Gods - Thorn'

Enslaved just announced a new release, but it isn't exactly a new album. The Sleeping Gods - Thorn will drop via By Norse Music on November 11th, and it will feature rare and experimental material from 2010/2011, collected for the first time as a full-length album. Costin Chioreanu of Twilight 13 Media (Roadburn Festival, Opeth, Darkthrone, At The Gates, etc.) once again did the new layout, including new illustrations.

Insomnium - Fourth New Album Trailer Released

The Finns Insomnium have delivered another trailer which presents Winter's Gate, their upcoming album. This fourth part is about the book that will come with the record. The album will be released very soon on September 23rd via Century Media Records. It is built around a short story, "Winter's Gate" ("Talven Portti" in Finnish), written by vocalist and bassist Niilo Sevänen. You can also hear more excerpts of new music from the opus, a concept album which will feature one 40-minute long track.

Persefone - Announce New Album

Persefone, the band from Andorra, just announced that their fifth album will be released on the 24th of February 2017 and will be called Aathma. The successor of Spiritual Migration will contain 10 new songs and it's mixed and mastered by Jens Bogren at Fascination Street. The artwork is once again created by Travis Smith. Also, Persefone has announced the 2017 European Aathma tour.

Noctem - New Video Online

The Cult - Announce Australian/New Zealand Tour Dates

Vienna Metal Meeting 2017 - First Bands Announced

Vienna is about to host the inaugural Vienna Metal Meeting! The festival will happen in Austria's capital on Saturday 8th of April 2017 and the Arena Wien - one of Vienna's most renowned venues - will get very loud. Focusing on thrash/death/black metal on two stages, with 15 international and national bands, Eindhoven Metal Meeting's little brother is born. The first bands have already been announced.

Slayer - Repentless Video Trilogy Completed With New Video

After the release of two videos from the last album Repentless and revealing that they won't release a new album until 2018 - Slayer comes with a new, and also the last music video of the Repentless video trilogy. The clip was directed by BJ McDonnell, who also directed the whole video trilogy. The final story takes us into a world that is especially sinister in tone, with the dark and the light colliding. Leaves' Eyes - Unveil New EP Cover, Tracklist

Leaves' Eyes, now fronted by singer Elina Siirala, recently unveiled the cover artwork, tracklist and release date for their next release, the EP titled Fires In The North. The artwork was done by their friend Stefan Heilemann. The EP was produced by Alexander Krull at Mastersound Studio. The title track is a brand new song, featured in both a regular and an acoustic version. In addition, the EP includes three songs from the band's latest album King Of Kings in new versions (featuring Elina on vocals).

Brainstorm - 2016 Remix Version Of 'Shiver' Available

Power metallers Brainstorm just revealed the second song off their Memorial Roots (Re-Rooted) album, which will be released in digipak format on September 16th via AFM Records. Check out Achim Köhler's 2016 remix of "Shiver" here. The song is taken from the album originally released in 2009 and completely new mix and mastered in 2016 (by Achim Köhler).

Neal Morse - Complete Work On New Studio Double Album

Progressive rock supergroup Neal Morse has finished recording, mastering and mixing their new concept double album. The news was revealed by ex-Dream Theater drummer and long-time collaborator of Neal Morse, Mike Portnoy. The new record will follow last year's The Grand Experiment.

Blackfield - Details Upcoming Album

Things were unclear when Steven Wilson decided to leave his collaborational project with Aviv Geffen, known as Blackfield, back in early 2014, but in a change of heart, he had joined forces again with Blackfield last year, and the first details of its result are in: Blackfield V, the band's fifth full-length album to date, will be released on November 18th, 2016, via Kscope. The new record will feature no less than 13 tracks, that will form into a 45 minute "ocean-theme" experience.
