Emily Alice Ovenden - Launches New Band

Pythia's long time vocalist Emily Alice Ovenden left the band in 2015 and has now launched a new folk/prog band, Khronicles. The new Pythia vocalist is Sophie Dorman and you can hear a sample of her audition for the band below. Their first appearance of the year will be on January 22nd at the Boston Music room in London. Triaxis and Metaprism will open for Pythia.

Conan - Announce North American Tour Dates

Conan, the doom metal outfit, will return to North America this March in support of the new album Revengeance which will be out on January 29th via Napalm Records. The Seattle, Washington sludge metal band Serial Hawk will be their special guests on this tour. The tour is set to kick off March 3rd in Chicago, IL and will run through March 26th in Seattle, WA. The trek will also include a stop at this year's SXSW Festival in Austin, TX. Check out the dates below.

Black Sabbath - Tommy Clufetos Confirmed For Farewell Tour, To Release EP

England's long living metal legends, Black Sabbath, formed in 1968 in Birmingham. Three original members, except for drummer Bill Ward, will hit the road soon for their farewell tour. They are taking drummer Tommy Clufetos with them, and he has already performed with the band on tour in 2013. Furthermore, Black Sabbath is releasing a new EP called The End on January 20th.

Blindead - Searching For New Singer

The Polish band Blindead can't seem to get a break when it comes to their singer position. They are searching for a new frontman once again. The post-metallers didn't say much about the departure of their most recent singer, Jan Galbas. In 2015, the band announced that Jan Galbas would be taking over vocal duties after Patryk Zwoliński left but that didn't last long.

Novembre - Announce New Album Details

The masters of death/doom metal are back! Novembre will release their highly anticipated new album on April 1st via Peaceville Records. The title will be URSA which is an acronym for "Union des Republiques Socialistes Animales" (French translation of George Orwell's masterpiece novel "Animal Farm"). The cover art is done by Travis Smith. URSA was recorded at Blue Noise Studio, and PlayRec studio by Massimiliano, then mixed and mastered at Unisound Studios by Dan Swanö (Opeth, Katatonia, Bloodbath).

The 69 Eyes - New Video Online

A few days ago, gothic metallers The 69 Eyes shared all the details about their upcoming album Universal Monsters which will be released on April 22nd via Nuclear Blast. They promised that the first single and video would be released this January 15th and you can enjoy it now below. The clip for "Jet Fighter Plane" was directed by Ville Juurikkala who also created the Universal Monsters cover artwork, which portrays The 69 Eyes members in movie monster lighting, showing them as classic and timeless creatures.

Redemption - Debut Lyric Video For New Song

Los Angeles progressive metal band Redemption have shared new music from their impending opus. The group will release its sixth full-length, The Art Of Loss, on February 26th via Metal Blade Records. Containing over 70 minutes of passion, melody, aggression and complexity, The Art Of Loss was produced once again by Tommy Hansen, who worked with the band on 2009's Snowfall On Judgment Day. The cover artwork was also created by long-time Redemption collaborator Travis Smith. You can hear the first sounds of the album in the new lyric video for the song "Damaged", featuring Marty Friedman, below.

Lacuna Coil - Part Ways With Guitarist

Lacuna Coil have lost yet another member. In the last two years, the band parted ways with drummer Cristiano "Criz" Mozzati and guitarist Cristiano Migliore. Now long-time guitarist Marco Emanuele Biazzi has also left the group. Lacuna Coil recently entered BRX Studio in Milan to record their new album, Delirium, for a tentative May release via Century Media.
