Wacken Open Air 2016 - First Bands Announced

The Wacken festival this year has come to an end and, as usual, the organizers now start presenting the first bands for the next Wacken Open Air. The biggest names confirmed out of the 17 acts from several genres so far include Blind Guardian, Ministry, Borknagar, and Therion. More names will follow in the next weeks and months, with the metal feast happening from 4th-6th August 2016.

For Today - Join Nuclear Blast

Last year, metalcore outfit For Today released the album Fight The Silence but they are already preparing their next one. The band has signed a brand new record deal with Nuclear Blast. The label will release the metal band's next album internationally. More details on the album and the band's fall plans will be revealed shortly.

Grime - New Label, New Album And Trailer

Newly founded Argento Records has confirmed the label's first title, with the impending release of Circle Of Molesters, the second LP from Trieste, Italy's corrosive sludge quartet, Grime. Following the release of their independent debut EP in 2011 and their dominating 2013-released debut LP, Deteriorate (Forcefield Records/Mordgrimm), the band enlisted the recording and mixing work of sound engineer Lorenzo Stecconi (Ufomammut, Amen Ra, Zu) and final mastering duties to Brad Boatright (Sleep, Corrosion Of Conformity, Nails) at Audiosiege. Crematory - Recruit New Guitarists

After 17 years with Crematory, guitar player Matthias Hechler decided to leave the band in early 2015, to concentrate on his private life and to explore new musical horizons. The successors are confirmed now, and for the first time ever, Crematory will play with two guitarists from now on. The band recruited two experienced guitarists: Tosse Basler, who will be handling the rhythm guitar and the clean vocals, and Rolf Munkes as the new lead guitarist.

Obscura - Complete Work On New Album

After dropping off the Summer Slaughter tour due to visa problems, German technical death metal band Obscura has issued a new update on the progress of their upcoming studio album. The band confirmed that the work on the follow-up to 2011's Omnivium is finished. The new album was produced by V. Santura. More details will be revealed in the following weeks.

Shining (NOR) - To Tour Europe This Fall

Norwegian avantgarde/experimental metallers Shining (NOR) are extremely pleased to announce 'International Blackjazz Society European Tour' for fall 2015. This headlining (almost) one-month run will be executed through October and November, and will be supported by Australian band Caligula's Horse. Horna - New Album In September, Streaming New Track

Prolific black metallers Horna will release their ninth full-length album, entitled Hengen Tulet, on September 22nd this year. The follow-up to 2013's Askel Lähempänä Saatanaa will be their second album, released on W.T.C. Productions, as well as the second to feature vocalist Spellgoth. The label promises an album rife with "foul, fetid primitivism", that hearkens back to the "filthier textures of the Corvus (Spellgoth's predecessor) years". The album features quite vibrant cover artwork, masterfully executed by Pahapasi, which can be seen below. Also, don't miss the new track, "Amadriada", now available for streming at this location.
