Wolf - New Video Online

"Skull Crusher", the new video from Swedish heavy metallers Wolf can now be watched below.

The video was produced by Morning Star Productions, also responsible for the video "Hail Caesar" from the previous album Ravenous.

Vocalist/guitarist Niklas Stålvind comments: "We have never had so much fun making a video as we had on this one. Smashing a car into smithereens is something we always wanted to do without cleaning up after us or get in trouble with the police. It was the best exercise/therapy you could ever wish for. I felt like I was 10 kilos lighter in both body and spirit afterwards. We had to work hard to demolish it good. A Volvo is made in Sweden and hard to tear apart - just like this Heavy Metal band. This one is for all the skull crushing metal heads out there - We salute you!"

"Skull Crusher" comes off the band's latest album Legions Of Bastards, which was released back in April through Century Media Records.

Wolf - Part Ways With Guitarist, Replacement Announced

After nine years and three albums guitarist Johannes "Axeman" Losbäck has parted ways with Swedish heavy metal band Wolf.

Axeman states: "It's with a heavy (Metal) heart that I announce that I'm stepping down from my duty's in the second best band in the world; Wolf. It was a very tough and difficult decision to make since I love Wolf & Heavy Metal but I simply can't give Wolf 666% at this point. It's not fair to the fans, the boys or me to not give it all and I need to step down. The downward spiral of the musicbizzniss which makes bands and musicians work harder & harder and trying to survive has taken its toll on me. I'd like to thank all, and I mean all fans for the ride of the past 9 years. I am a fan of yours so I love you all to death! Also thanx to Wolf members past & present for sharing the life and giving me the opportunity to express myself thru music. I am deeply proud and honored to have made music with you! I started my relationship with Wolf as a fan and now I get to end it as a fan. Thank you all, 666 times over & over. You will hear from me again! Oh...and Celtic Frost rules!"

Comments vocalists, guitarist and founder of the band Niklas Stålvind: "On behalf of the band I would like to thank Johannes for his work in Wolf and for the many great memories and laughs since his first appearance with the band in Wacken Open Air 2002. What Johannes Axeman doesn't know about Heavy Metal is not worth knowing. One episode that comes to mind is when we met legendary Thrash Metal band Hirax on a festival in Germany. Hirax's frontman Katon and Axeman started discussing Metal in general and numerous bands in particular. Katon, well known for his knowledge about every underground band in the scene soon gave up, proclaiming: 'This man is a fucking Metal encyclopaedia!'

Johannes is also a natural born entertainer, always in love with the audience. One of many, many stories I remember is when we played in Nottingham and there was a drunk punk rock girl standing front row, mocking us. I tried to ignore her, but she was kind of getting on my nerves anyway. All of a sudden came Axeman with his axe in one hand and a beer in the other. The very surprised looking punk girl got the beer, and the rest of the show she was head-banging insanely with a smile on her face. He turned a punk into a Metal head with a beer.
Axeman is probably so Metal he is even contagious. Wolf wish Johannes Axeman, the Metallest man in the world, the very best in the future! May you never rust. HAIL!"

Powerwolf - Enter The Studio In December

German metallers Powerwolf have issued the following update on their MySpace blog:

"The wolves are currently busy writing the follow up album to Bible Of The Beast. We spent the last three months in the rehersal room working out stuff for the new album. Even though it's still in the making we can already promise the songs are 100% Powerwolf, taking off where Bible Of The Beast ended - there's furious stuff, there's epic stuff - and all of it is catchy as hell.

For the production we're going to team up with exactly the same crew as for Bible Of The Beast: Kohlekeller Studios for the recordings, any chapel we can haunt for organ and choir celebrations - and of course Studio Fredman and Fredric Nordström for mix.

The pack will invade studio in December and the recording process will last until February. Expect a tentative release midyear 2011. More details and updates will follow as we find a minute to draw a few lines."

Wolf - Working On New Album

After delivering a masterly lesson in heavy metal with 2009's Ravenous, Sweden's synonym for "heavy f**king metal", Wolf, are now diligently working on the much anticipated follow-up.

Comments the band: "We'd like to announce that Wolf will be entering Studio Underground in Västerås/Sweden in November to record our follow up to the success of our Grammi nominated 2009 album, Ravenous. We will be working alongside producer Pelle Saether. We have been hard at work writing new songs and some songtitles are: "Fullmoon Possession", "Skullcrusher", "False Preacher", and "Adrenaline Overdrive".

We feel fired up and ready to deliver a kickass heavy metal album to you all in spring 2011. Tourplans for next year are also taking form and we know that we're gonna hit more places than ever before. Festival season is also gonna be a blast as usual!

A fun note for our fans are also that Wolf is featured in the new book "Mera Hårdrock" with the album Ravenous as well as an interview regarding horror and music with guitarist Johannes Axeman. This book is written by tv/radio personalities Matthias Lindblad & Melker Becker and it's their second book featuring heavy metal.

We'd also like to tell you about our performance at the Dean guitars UK meeting where we had the great honour to perfom with Saxon guitarist Doug Scarret as guest. We played 2 Saxon songs and they can be viewed as fan filmed material, at the following links: "Princess Of The Night" Link] and "747 (Strangers In The Night)" Link]."

Lonewolf - New Bassist Found

Rikki Mannhard - known for his work for French traditional metal band Mystery Blue - has now officially joined Lonewolf.

The band had been struggling to find a new bassist for a while now, with ex-Nightmare guitarist Alex Hilbert falling in on several occasions. Hilbert is now the band's new full-time new guitarist since the departure of Damien Capolongo less than two weeks ago.

The new bassist comes just in the nick of time as Lonewolf will be touring France, Greece and Germany in November.

Lonewolf - Line-Up Changes In The Band

French metallers Lonewolf have parted ways with long time guitarist Damien Capolongo.

The band's vocalist, Jens Volker Mathias Bömer, states: "Damien, our long time lead guitarist and Lonewolf go separate ways now. Other priorities, family, the will of playing something a bit different made this choice as an evidence for Damien, and it is the best decision for both sides to avoid any future misunderstandings which could be bad for our true friendship that of course still remains. We wish Damien all the best for the future.

Nevertheless, he'll play the two upcoming gigs with us: Luynes and Toreille, to close this chapter in a cool way.

Alex, our bass player, (but former Nightmare guitarist) will take the lead guitar, and we will search a new bass player. We don't give a fuck about a monster of technicality, we want to find a true metal child for whom the names Manilla Road, Stormwitch or Running Wild don't sound foreign and strange."

Powerwolf - Part Ways With Drummer, Replacement Announced

German metallers Powerwolf have issued the following update on their MySpace blog:

"Stefane Funebre will have to focus on his increasing religious duties in the future and will therefore no longer be able to join the wolves on their crusade. Funebre will however remain a part of the pack for life and will keep supporting us with his spiritual and mental guidance behind the scenes.

As the new member of the Wolfpack we welcome Tom Diener, who will take place on the holy drumseat in the future.

Tom already toured with us as temporary replacement for Funebre during the last 12 months and in the meantime has become a true member of the pack and a master of the ceremony. Be sure he will unleash some great metal madness with us in the future."
