19:06 - Zaphod Ah, thanks, I didn't know that. In that case, I have no idea which will be harder for Finns. I also know Basque isn't related to Indo-European. Or any language group for that matter.
19:06 - Redn1ght Finnish, closest languages in pronunciation are: Italian and parts of Japanese. To get a sense of it.
19:05 - ScreamingSteelUS It would depend on your linguistic background, of course, but I would imagine for Europeans or myself as an English-speaking American that Polish would be easier, since it at least is of the same language descent.
19:01 - ScreamingSteelUS Finnish doesn't. Finnish, Hungarian, and Estonian are part of the Finno-Ugric language group, which is one of a very small number of European languages not related to the Indo-European family.
18:55 - Zaphod Although, to be honest, I have no idea where Finnish fits into the Indo-European language family.
18:53 - Zaphod Also, it depends where those foreigners are from ;) If you're talking about you or me, Chinese will be the hardest, since it has completely different origins than our own languages.
18:49 - Redn1ght Yeah, I would guess Chinese is harder because of the tone/pitch change rules in the language...
