Hacride - Replace Drummer

French Progressive metal band Hacride have parted ways with original drummer Olivier Laffond and are welcoming new member Mike Roponus (Om Mani, live Demians) into their ranks.

Hacride vocalist Samuel Bourreau explains: "We've been using Mike 's services over the past few months because of Olivier's wife's pregnancy. It was originally supposed to be a temporary situation but he decided to quit the band to focus on his new family responsabilities which we perfectly understand. It feels a bit weird for us because we have had the same stable line-up since the band's birth. On top of being a great friend Mike has proved to be one of the best drummer known to us. We are glad to have him as a full member of Hacride."

Mike Roponus was introduced last Sunday as the new official Hacride drummer in Toulouse (France). Watch video footage here.

Slumber - New Song Online

Swedish metallers Slumber have posted online a "laptop version" of a new song, "Atoma", on their MySpace page.

The song comes off the band's forthcoming album, "Resonance", which will be released next year. The band will record "Resonance" between October 5 and November 15 at Panic Room Studios in Skara.

The band adds: "It pains some musicians to show their work in such a premature stage. This song is a laptop version of a track appearing on upcoming album "Resonance". However, the urge to share our work overshadows its bad shape and sound. This naked version of the song "Atoma" is without the heavy atmospheres of synth, vocals and proper drums. When recorded it will spark and shine like Titanic. Let the journey of "Atoma" take you elsewhere meanwhile. Enjoy."

The two songs come off the band's forthcoming album, entitled "Enemies", which is scheduled for release on October via Listenable Records.

The band adds: "Today you get your first taste of "Enemies"; we have posted "The Swine" and "Through Veils" on our MySpace page. The songs represent the new album in a good way we think: one of them is a more heavy song while the other one is more catchy. Either way, these songs take what we did on Spite to a new level. We hope you will love these songs as much as we do.

Stay tuned for more updates as they will be frequent from here on! "Enemies" will be released in the first week of October via Listenable Records in Europe. Fans in North America and around the world stay tuned for more info on release dates."

More details about "Enemies" were previously reported at this location.

Machinae Supremacy - Part Ways With Drummer

Swedish metallers Machinae Supremacy have issued the following update on their MySpace blog:

"Due to personal reasons, our dear Tomas "Tom" Nilsén has chosen this time to leave Machinae Supremacy after seven years of pure win and awesome.

As unfortunate as this is, Tomas could not have picked a better time. We are currently focused on producing material for our upcoming album and can therefore take our time finding a replacement for Tomas without it interfering too much with our plans for the near future.

Tomas, you will be missed."

Syrach - Part Ways With Bassist, Replacement Announced

Norwegian metallers Syrach have issued the following update on their MySpace blog:

"Our release party on friday will be the last ever chance to see all 5 persons from the new album, live on stage. As you all know, Reich quit some time ago but will still play this gig on friday. Also Hjarandr decided to leave the band now, because he wanted to focus on his interest in food and will now try to get a degree as a chef. We wish him the best of luck with this, and hope that someday he will cook us another great meal as he did on our listening party at Captain's cabin.

"Hjarandr" spent about seven years with us and has been a great tribute to our ranks. We have had some great times together and been through a lot. We are sorry to let this great man of doom go, but his mind is set and we have to respect this. We'll be sure to get some beers together in the future anyway.

We are at the same time proud to announce his replacement in Øystein K. Øystein played with us on our European tour in October and is a very good bass player and friend of us, so we are very glad to have him on board our ship.

And as for a new guitarist, we'll start auditioning in august. we'll keep you posted!"
