Plains Of Oblivion, the brand new solo album from American guitarist Jeff Loomis is currently streaming online in its entirety at this location. The album was released on April 10th in North America and April 9th in Europe through Century Media Records. More album details were previously reported here.

Solo albums are always a 50-50 thing for me. On the one hand, there are some killer riffs and solos, but on the other hand, no matter how good (and in this case very good) they seem to be, it all gets tedious and dare I say, boring, after a while. Jeff did try to mix it up a little, see Tragedy and Harmony/Surrender/Chosen Time/Rapture as examples, but overall I feel that the Plains of Oblivion still falls short.
Okay, now for the inner fanboy in me... HOLY &%*$ JEFF! WOW, YOU ARE THEE BEST GUITAR PLAYER EVER TO HAVE LIVED! I WANT TO HAVE YOUR BABIES!!...ahem... |

| Loomis is one of the few artist's that I actually enjoy their solo albums. Zero Order Phase was amazing, and Plains of Oblivion is equally amazing to me. |
