06:42 - psykometal So, like a Body Count thing? :P
04:57 - 3rdWorld Dayum, Death Grips begin their latest record with a thrash hip hop track. Sounds really awful in words but they really do make it work.
04:54 - 3rdWorld I really thought it could be from the 80's but damn thats a '12 record. Nice artist but that doesn't count out Kendrick for me.
04:45 - Apothecary Which makes sense in part, as he is from Zimbabwe by birth (hence Mugabe on that album cover)
04:45 - Apothecary Ehhh... different strokes, but I'd take Billy Woods over Kendrick any day. He is does some of the BEST sociopolitical hip hop out there imo. Profound comments on the effects of imperialism and colonialism
04:42 - 3rdWorld Good alternative hip hop track. Sounds exactly like a precursor to something that Kendrick is doing. :)

I know I'm supposed to hate this (and anything Cradle of Filth makes for that matter) but I kieend of like it. Musically it isn't too complex and gets a little repetitive, but the keyboard usage to accentuate the song rather than, um..do relatively nothing (as most CoF albums post Damnation do) and the infernal decadent riff kind of reminds me of a mix between Damnation (minus a philharmonic orchestra) and Nymphetamine (which was stripped down Cradle at its best). I think the drums are a lil' uninhabited song writing wise in the greater scheme of things, but I can't really see every song sounding like this, if not just to the fact that it isn't tremelo masturbation, of course the opposite of this being the one "unique" song on the whole album could be true as well. I'm keeping an eye on this one as it seems the closest they've been to unsucky Cradle in a while.
However as is the great metalhead tradition I have to find SOMETHING to rip into CoF for and that would be:
Seriously, who the fuck uses .wav to distribute music nowadays? I can't imagine someone with a slower bandwidth stomaching to download the 42MB file.
I kinda liked the new direction, seems interesting.
Well, it wasn't quite going in new direction I guess because it sounds exactly like last EP("Labyrinth"). In either way, if they are close to "Darkly, Darkly Venus" I am damn sure CoF is reinstating their sheer lost glory.
Cradle used to have a signature style of guitar playing and song structure and it's 99% missing here..
This isn't extreme metal..it barely has any gothic\BM elements..hell, I dunno how to call it. Hope the rest of the album is better.
