Who wants to know more about Dark Tranquillity's new album? We are here to help and no, this is not fiction. The Gothenburg metal kings just announced that their new album will have the title Construct. Not only that but it will be out on May 27th in Europe and on May 28th in North America through Century Media Records. This will also be the band's 10th studio album. Jens Bogren will mix the new release and the band will soon enter the studio.

The band commented: "Greetings, Darklings! After having played over 200 shows in every corner of the world in support of the We Are The Void album, it's time to focus inwards and lock ourselves up in the studio. Months and months of hard songwriting work has paid off, and the recording sessions will start early this year. Further details will be announced in due time, but for now we can reveal that the album will be entitled Construct, and that we're very excited to have Jens Bogren (Paradise Lost, Opeth, Katatonia) taking care of the mix. The release date is set for May 27th."

Exited for this one!
Dark Blood - 10.01.2013 at 20:41
Sweet juicy news! I was actually wondering what were they up to. Feels right to have another DT album this year.
MechanisT - 10.01.2013 at 20:41
Three years of anxious waiting... let the countdown commence!
Evilquince - 10.01.2013 at 20:43
I already see what will be my album of the year!
Great surprise, I cannot wait.
BloodTears - 10.01.2013 at 20:47
I really hope they show real character on this one. We Are The Void was subpar when compared to other albums but I always believe in Dark Tranquillity

As far as I'm concerned, none of their albums really sucked big time, so that says something.
Darkside Momo - 10.01.2013 at 20:53
^ all that

Of course eagerly waiting for it!

Marcel Hubregtse - 10.01.2013 at 21:01
Hopefully they willl find the way up again.

But saw them live at Eindhoven Metal Meeting and they were subpar and totally uninspired.
Opethian - 10.01.2013 at 21:09
Somewhat nervous about this. Their last effort was incredibly mediocre. Hopefully these last 3 years DT found some new Inspiration and passion for creating good music once again
Abattoir - 10.01.2013 at 21:15
Wasn't impressed by their last stuff. Nevertheless they always try to do/add something new in their music, which firmly sticks within the genre bounds.

So, I'm definitely curious about this one.

Awesome! Dark Tranquillity are one band that have managed to maintain a level of consistency throughout their career, I am sure this wont disappoint.

I love them "The Gallery" is one my favorite albums of Gothenburg scene, but their last album "We Are The Void" was incredibly mediocre, i liked a lot more the "Zero Distance" EP, i hope album will go in that direction....

Since they're one of the first Melodic Death bands I've known, I really respect them.
Looking forward to this one :-)

Puns like that display a defect of character!

Though maybe I'm just projecting.
BloodTears - 11.01.2013 at 10:41
Ahah, I wanted to do more puns, but that could turn bad real fast

Either way, I'm in Haven.
Promonex - 11.01.2013 at 11:59
Oh, how I hate such shitty puns. If I could, I'd cast all of you into a particle storm

It feels as if there have been many Hours Passed In Exile since the release of We Are the Void. With Senses Tied, only One Thought can Undo Control that Cornered my mind into feeling Rundown and Emptier Still- that Construct will soon be In Sight. I must be careful not to let my Focus Shift or I may run Out of Nothing (although I'm sure it means Nothing to No One). I would continue, but right now I'm At a Loss For Words.
BloodTears - 12.01.2013 at 10:55
Lol Yes, it could do go on forever

I've never been disappointed by DT ever since Projector came out. They always manage to bring something that is pure DT feeling and I'm sure this next one will kick asses as usual.
