Kalmah - Streaming New Track, Reveal New Album Title And Release

Kalmah have just released a new song for streaming from their upcoming album which will be called Seventh Swamphony. The track is called "Windlake Tale" and you can listen to the song on the Soundcloud player below. The first details about the album and follow-up to 2010's 12 Gauge were also disclosed.

Seventh Swamphony is the seventh studio album of Kalmah, it will feature eight tracks and is set for release on June 17th 2013 via Spinefarm Records. It was recorded at Tico-Tico Studios in Kemi, Finland, and features a selection of brand new tracks, mixed and mastered at Sweden's Fascination Street Studios by Jens Bogren (Opeth, Soilwork, Paradise Lost, etc.).

Antti Kokko, Kalmah's lead guitarist, says: "This album marks a milestone in our careers. We have a new keyboard player, which has given a fresh edge to the music, and we are of course very satisfied with the new material. That is why we wanted to give the songs the best possible chance without compromise; we feel very lucky and privileged to have worked with Jens Bogren."

I don't know it doesn't sound "right". I'm really hoping for better songs...12 Gauge was a lot better than this one and it wasn't even close to be one of their best. Plus, "Seventh Swamphony" really??? they couldn't find a better title???

It's actually a creative title in that context, though I too prefer something else

Cool. I was wondering if this would come out this year or next year. Glad I'll be able to listen to the full thing come summer. Production sounds a little different this time around. Hopefully their new keyboard guy will work out for them.

it does sound that way... they almost are starting to sound like the new stuff from children of bodom, and that's never a good thing unless you're into that, and I would hate for Kalmah to head in that direction:mad:

New stuff from Children Of Bodom? You're kidding right?

For me, the music sounds like something from For The Revolution and The Black Waltz, and the vocals are a mix of their early and later albums. Sounds like a mix of everything they've done so far. Excited!

Not new Bodom, just new Kalmah which means boring, uncreative and kind of "forced" songs.. Yeah they are still metal and all that shit and not turning "mainstream" but a new breath of fresh air would be needed.

I think I'm right with you guys in some part, after many listening I found first part similar to ETOS for song (Sick, Dirty and Main), and first solo like COB, but still solid like KALMAH, actully KALMAH is the reason why I listen to Metal these days.

from my side, I would prefer to record album same as SWAMSONG.

after all I still like KALMAH, what ever song they make.
so GO KALMAH GO

Well, you may be surprised as well, maybe the other songs are better than this one Let's hope so in this case!

Yep, you're right, a lot of times is the "single" worse than the rest of an album
