18:39 - Marcel Hubregtse Those two were okay, but still incredibly generic. Like you I don't understand why they keep on going back to that sound from time to time.
18:37 - Apothecary I'd say the first two MV albums weren't all that bad, but it should've just stopped after that. And yes, I've been wondering why they continue to bother with that sound anymore as well
18:30 - Marcel Hubregtse Incredible that a band that can be totally out there when they want too (bordering on avantgarde) also records stuff which is incredibly generic (looking at all the MV albums)
18:28 - Apothecary "Both being very different on an Artistic plan." Well no shit lol, I probably won't even bother with another Memoria Vetusta album, but that other one sounds intriguing
Opeth will be doing a free acoustic performance and signing this upcoming Saturday, April 20th (which is also Record Store Day) at Newbury Comics in Leominster, Massachusetts at 3:00 PM. The band's North American tour in support of their latest album, Heritage, kicks off on April 18th, and runs through May 26th.
Bassist Martin Mendez says of the upcoming dates: "We're doing a different kind of tour than last time. Last time some of the fans were disappointed because we were really promoting the last record and we didn't do any of the really heavy songs. But this time we are doing is mish-mash of everything. I hope — I think it will be appreciated."
The address for the acoustic performance is:
31 Sack Blvd.
